Sales of cars in China rose in June for the first time since May 2018

The China Passenger Car Association reported an increase in domestic car sales of 4.9% in May compared with the same month last year. In total, 1.8 million cars were sold in the country. In previous months, the association recorded a drop in sales, which lasted from May last year. The change in the dynamics in the car market upwards was made possible thanks to the large discounts offered to customers by dealers, the purpose of which is to sell the cars before the start of the new emission standards in the country. Prices for cars in recent weeks have been reduced by 50%. The main percentage of sales accounted for eight Chinese provinces, where from July 1, new requirements regarding the level of emissions were introduced.
